Women of St. Chrysostom’s

The Women of St. Chrysostom's was formed to stimulate growth in Christian faith, to extend Christian outreach and to provide camaraderie among members through programs centered on the riches of the spirit and the world around us. They hold regular charity events and meetings and welcomes women of all ages to join.

September 11, 2012 (Tuesday) All-Parish Tea at the home of Judy Bross, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Hosted by Judy Bross and Charlotte York Matthews. No charge.

October 3, 2012 (Wednesday) SPECIAL EVENT: Architectural Walking Tour with Sally Kalmbach "From Grand Mansions to Luxury Apartment Buildings: The story of the changing skyline of Lake Shore Drive" Surprise house visit included in tour! Tour: 10 am-12 noon. Lunch in the Guild Room at the church. Chairs: Lisa Valiani, Pam Marks. Cost: $75 (tour and lunch) or $35 (lunch only).

October 16, 2012 (Tuesday) Decorate hats for Christmas stockings. Guild Room, 9 a.m.-11 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. Chairs: Sherri Wick, Pam Marks. No charge.

November 14, 2012 (Wednesday) Stocking Stuffer Part I. St. Chrysostom's Church, 11:45 a.m. No charge. We join the monthly Day School chapel service when the students, their parents and WOSC bring items for Christmas stockings. Lunch in the gymnasium follows the brief chapel service. Chair: Mary Ellen Christy.

December 5, 2012 (Wednesday) Stocking Stuffer Part II. 12 noon. Luncheon in Guild Room, Stocking stuffing in Harding Room. Chairs: Sherri Wick, Kristin Quinn. No. charge.

December 9, 2012 (Sunday) Bake Sale and Regifting Holiday Market. 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Volunteers needed. Chairs: Annie Brown, Michelle Andreoli-McMahon.

January 25 & 26, 2013 (Friday & Saturday) Women's Retreat. Friday 5 p.m. - Saturday 12 noon. Cenacle Retreat Center, 513 W. Fullerton Parkway (Clark & Fullerton). "Breathe on me, Breath of God." Our lives can be hectic and frenetic. You are invited to spend an evening and morning with us - a time set apart to take a deep breath. No preparation required. Come as you are. Come to catch your breath. Leader: The Reverend Terri Heyduk, Interim Rector. Cost: $100 includes meals and overnight accommodations.

February 12, 2013 (Tuesday) Winter Luncheon at the home of Pam Marks, 11:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Speaker: The Reverend Kara Wagner Sherer. Chair: Andrea Hosbein. Cost: $20.

March 5, 2012 (Tuesday) Lenten Breakfast. Guild Room, 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. "Women, God and 'Mothers.' " What do we mean when we say something is maternal? How does our tradition talk about God in ways that remind us of this quality? Speaker: The Reverend Danielle Thompson. Chair Josephine McGuire. Cost: $20.

April 26-28, 2013 (Friday - Saturday) Second Annual Spring Tag Sale. Saturday: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.; Sunday 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Preview Party, Friday 7 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. cost $20. Chairs: Pam Marks, Kristin Quinn.
