Vision of Mission At the heart of this great city, by this lakeshore, we
remember Jesus calling the fishermen to follow him. “Follow me and I will make you
fish for people.” (Mark 1:17) · God gives us a great mission always centered in the worship of the church, according to the Book of Common Prayer, with a commitment to excellence in word and music. · Our mission includes Christian Formation – forming Christian lives, making disciples – education for children, for youth, for adults. And an important part of our mission is St. Chrysostom’s Day School. · Our mission includes welcoming the newcomer. · God has given St. Chrysostom’s such a rich abundance of gifts – people richly gifted, gifts for prayer, gifts for teaching, gifts for welcoming. We are clear about our mission but it is clarity that always needs to stay open to God’s surprising purposes and gifts. · God sends us on a mission which includes building a welcoming and inclusive community life and hospitality in this parish, with programs from Sunday night suppers to Foyer dinner groups to Women of St. Chrysostom’s. · Our mission which includes reaching beyond ourselves in outreach and wider mission. · Our mission includes faithful pastoral care, the clergy being with people in joys and sorrows and the people of this parish being with one another, caring for one another.
· Our mission includes, is built on, our being faithful stewards of our resources of money and property and people. The mission of the parish is grounded in sound administration.
