Please find listed below the May 2008 activity program for the Employment Council May 5: Topic: Are You Hitting the Numbers? Assessing the Effectiveness and Focus of Your Job Search. Our speaker will be Niels Dale, a HR professional who works with domestic and international companies in the field of human resource management. Niels has over 10 years of HR experience in large medical centers and for-profit companies. He also served on the board of HRMAC May 12: Topic: Career Change as an Alternative in Job Transitions. Our speaker will be John P. Grubbs, a Human Resources professional and former Chairman of the Board of Trilogy, Inc., a not-for-profit Mental Health Care organization. John recently retired as First Vice President, Human Resources ABN AMRO Bank. May 19: Topic: The Power Packed Interview. Our speaker will be Bob Spriggs, Principal of Robert Spriggs & Associates, an executive search firm. May 26: No session due to Memorial Day

Career Transitions Center of Chicago (CTC): The Center is a not-for-profit organization providing career transition and job search assistance. Located at 703 West Monroe in Chicago, the Center hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In addition to weekly job search skill-building seminars and networking sessions held on Thursdays from 7:45 AM to 9:00 AM, services include individual job search coaching, desks with telephones, computers with Internet access, laser printers, copier, fax machines, library resources, job listings, practice interviewing, and career interest testing and coaching. There is a quarterly registration/membership charge for the services provided by the Center. A modest fee is required for various assessment instruments such as Myers Briggs.
