Making Palm Crosses | 10–11 AM, Gymnasium

Join the Altar Guild in making palm crosses for the next day’s Palm Sunday services—a 55-year tradition at St. Chrysostom’s. As scissors and sharp cutters are used, the activity is not suited for very small children.

WOSC Bake Sale & Bazaar Set-up | 9 AM–3 PM, Harding Room

Drop off contributions—baked goods, sweets, savories, soups, sides, and frozen meals.

Palm Sunday, April 9

Bake Sale & Bazaar | Between All Services, Harding Room

Everyone is invited stop by the Harding Room to shop the wonderful array of homemade goodies and hostess gifts between all services on Palm Sunday! Funds raised will enable us to expand our literacy outreach programs with Chicago Hopes for Kids and the Metro Achievement Center for Girls in the 2017–2018 school year. Neighbors and friends are welcome!

Neighborhood Palm Procession | 10 AM, Courtyard

Rain or shine, please join a special procession around the neighborhood with our live donkey. We will remember Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem where people cheered him on, placing palms and clothing on the ground to honor him as their king. Adults, youth, and children are all invited to participate in this special public liturgy. People will be invited to take turns carrying the cross. On this 30-minute walk, we will pause at various locations to pray—in repentance, thanksgiving, intercession and petition. Friends and neighbors are welcome! JOIN US!
