Worship

At St. Chrysostom’s, liturgical worship is at the heart of who we are as a people of faith. It is a time when our entire parish community gathers as one to celebrate the love of God made manifest in his Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. It inspires and informs everything else we do as a community. All are encouraged to participate fully in our worship services, including Holy Eucharist. Whoever you are and wherever you find yourself on the journey of faith, you are welcome to receive the bread and wine made holy.

Children and Youth

St. Chrysostom’s offers professionally-staffed nursery care for infants to 4-year-old children on Sunday mornings from 10:00 am - 11:30 am.

Sunday School for children ages K to 2nd grade begins at 10:15 am with stories, songs and activities. Children return to the service at the Peace to join their families for Communion.

3rd to 5th graders meet as the Peacemakers on second Sundays for fellowship and learning from 11:30 am -12:30 pm. The group participates in collaborative learning activites focused on peace with God, self, and others.

A Children's Corner is designated in the sanctuary with selected activities and pew-quiet toys during the 10:15 am. Sunday service. There are also children's bulletins, books, and materials in the back of the church. In addition, children ages 3rd-grade and older may begin serving as leaders in worship as acolytes, ushers and readers.

Rites of the Church

The Rites of the Church, or sacraments, are outward and visible signs of an inward and spiritual grace, given by Christ as sure and certain means by which we receive that grace. Grace is God’s favor towards us, unearned and undeserved. By grace, God forgives our sins, enlightens our minds, stirs our hearts and strengthens our wills. The two great sacraments given by Christ to his Church are Holy Baptism and the Holy Eucharist. In addition, The Episcopal Church recognizes the sacramental nature of other rites, including matrimony, confirmation and ordination.
