Music has always been an integral part of worship and parish life at St. Chrysostom’s, serving as a means of personal inspiration and outreach to the community. When performed to the highest standards of excellence, music serves to glorify God, expressing what words alone cannot. Supported by noted Director of Music, Richard Hoskins, multiple choirs, a celebrated Fisk organ and an historic carillon, St. Chrysostom’s music program draws both devoted Sunday worshipers and fans throughout the neighborhood and wider Chicago community to its frequent special concerts.
St. Chrysostom's auditioned, professional mixed choir of twelve voices includes some of the finest choral artists in the city of Chicago. With a repertoire spanning nearly five centuries, they offer choral leadership nearly every Sunday during the program year as well as on special occasions such as Ash Wednesday. The celebrated music program has hosted American, French, English, Polish, Hungarian, Dutch and German organists and harpsichordists and is especially known for presenting several of Chicago’s leading period instrument and choral ensembles.
